Rigged? Michigan accused of rigged ending against Western Michigan

In an exciting last second finish, Michigan's quarterback, Bryce Underwood, flings a 50 yard hail mary to the endzone which is caught to seal the 13-12 win over Western Michigan. But wait! Prior to this, Michigan was losing 12-7 and had already attempted a hail mary with 9 seconds remaining. Replays of the failed hail mary showed the clock hitting all zeroes before the ball touched the ground meaning that time expired, the game was over, and Western Michigan has defeated Michigan in a shocking home opener upset. However, the game officials immediately started a review of the play and declared that there was in fact one second left. This one second allowed Michigan to try again, and this time, their hail mary attempt worked. The broadcast commentators questioned why one second was allowed back on the clock and since it was added back, why were the game officials' clock out of sync with theirs? They said many fans will demand an explanation of this mysterious last second.
